Semi-Final Showdowns and Pool C Drama in Lille

The penultimate day of action at the EuroHockey U18 Championships delivered high drama across both semi-finals and Pool C matches in Boys and Girls competitions. With finals places and promotion battles at stake, teams fought hard under the July sun, showcasing grit, flair, and national pride.

🏆 Semi-Finals – Who’s heading to the finals?
Girls’ Semi-Finals

Netherlands 2–0 Spain
Two second-half field goals from Olivia Huisman (42’) and Ellemeike Visser (59’) secured the Dutch a place in the final and a shot at gold. Spain battled well defensively but couldn’t find their rhythm in attack.

Belgium 3–1 Germany
A confident Belgian side stunned Germany with three unanswered goals in the first three quarters. Germany pulled one back in the 41st minute through Maxi Green, but Belgium held firm to seal a place in the final.

Boys’ Semi-Finals

France 3–2 Spain
Roared on by the home crowd, France edged a thriller. Spain came back twice, but a 45th-minute winner from Martin Chiarelli sent Les Bleus through to the final.

Germany 5–3 Belgium
Germany raced to a 4–0 lead by halftime with goals from Warweg, Scholz, and others. Belgium mounted a spirited comeback in the second half, but the early German blitz proved decisive.

🔁 Pool C – Final Push in the Ranking Rounds
Girls Pool C
France 2–1 Italy
France struck twice in the second quarter to edge Italy, who pulled one back via a penalty corner from Ludovica Pericoli.


England 9–0 Poland
England delivered a dominant performance with Elena Baggett and Emily Barrett shining up front. Three goals in the final 5 minutes from Barrett capped off a ruthless attacking display.

Boys Pool C
Czechia 3–4 Scotland
In a back-and-forth contest, Scotland held off a late Czech surge to win a seven-goal thriller. Finlay Calder and Andrew McGrane led the Scottish scoring effort.

Netherlands 4–1 England
Clinical and composed, the Dutch took their chances in style. Jurre Bunte and Juup Krop were on target to give the Netherlands a commanding win over England.
