Sunday will see all the major issues decided in Vienna with six sides in contention for the four spots on offer for Monday’s promotion and gold medal matches win women’s EuroHockey Club Challenge I in Vienna.
In Pool A, Lorenzoni and HC Olten both recorded their first wins of the competition, jumping up to seven points with IFK SumDPU giving chase on five points.
Pool B has Racing Club de France and WAC are level on seven points with HAHK Mladost one point back on six going into the final set of matches in the group phase.

Game 5 IFK SumDPU
v HF Lorenzoni Bra 2-7
In an exciting Pool A match, HF Lorenzoni Bra defeated IFK SumDPU 7-2 with the Italians ending the day just in front on goal difference after the day’s action.
Lorenzoni took an early lead with goals by Lisa Di Blasi and Sabrina Raimo in the first half. SumDPU fought back in the third quarter, equalising with goals from Nadiia Korobkina and Sofiia Basanets, making it 2-2.
However, Lorenzoni’s relentless attack saw Elena Carletti score four times in the second half, along with another goal by Carla Servadio, securing a comprehensive victory.
Game 6 HC Olten
v Howardian Ladies HC 4-0
HC Olten secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Howardian Ladies HC in their Pool A match, adding to their opening day draw with Lorenzoni.
Olten’s early dominance was evident with goals by Diana Hoxhaj and Stephanie Weber in the first quarter. They continued their strong performance with additional goals from Geraldine Studemann and Anja Buri.
It’s still all to play for in Pool A as the top two slots are still up for grabs depending on tomorrow’s games.
Game 7 Racing Club de France
v WAC 1-1
In a tightly contested Pool B match at the EuroHockey Club Challenge I Women 2024, Racing Club de France and WAC played to a 1-1 draw, meaning they share top spot on seven points.
The match saw both teams struggle to break through the defences in the first half. Racing Club de France took the lead in the 36th minute with a penalty stroke converted by Anaé Ratabouil. WAC equalised in the 48th minute with a penalty corner goal by Johanna Buchleitner.
Game 8 HAHK Mladost
v Lisbon Casuals HC 7-0
A solid performance from HAHK Mladost overwhelmed Lisbon Casuals HC with a decisive 7-0 victory.
Mladost started strong with early goals by Lucija Čepo and Monika Vajdić in the 9th and 10th minutes. They extended their lead with a penalty corner goal by Ana Čolić in the 20th minute. Mladost continued their dominance in the fourth quarter, adding four more goals from Vajdić, Lucija Čepo, and Kaja Vitas, capping off with a penalty corner by Saša Abramović.
The win puts them back in contention for a final spot and a win over Racing on Sunday would see them through.
