Ukraine produced a blistering second quarter performance to defeat Türkiye and win the women’s EuroHockey Championship III title in Alanya, overturning their group stage loss to the hosts.
Karyna Leonova gave Ukraine a great start with a sixth minute opening goal and Anna Tanchenko nudged them further in front in Q2. Emine Bahçivan did cut the gap in the 22nd minute but three goals in the five minutes before half-time effectively settled the contest.
Anastasiia Voievoda restored the two-goal gap and then a double from Veronika Movchan made it 5-1 at half-time. Sofiia Basanets, Yevheniya Kernoz and Daria Sherstiuk added three more in Q3 to well and truly move out of sight before Anastasiia Shyshyna made it 9-1. Leonova completed the win with her 13th goal of the tournament.

Luxembourg 1 Hungary 2
Hungary scored twice in the closing quarter to comeback from a goal down and defeat Luxembourg, overturning their group result to record their first international win since 2019.
Luxembourg had edged in front from Natalie Paul’s third goal of the tournament in the third quarter but the game turned Hungary’s was when Sára Józan scored with 13 minutes left to equalise. And Cseperke Sütö won the game from her side’s 12th penalty corner in the closing stages.
