Ukraine and Sweden faced each other in the Final of the EuroHockey 5’s Championship.

Captain and top scorer Popova got Ukraine off to the best start with a field goal in the 7th minute. Justus equalised in the 11th minute to even up the score, going into 1/2 time 1-1. Ukraine used all their experience in the second half to go ahead 4-1, Sweden fought hard to come back and did so via Schrader in the final minute, but it was to no avail as the final hooter went and Ukraine were crowned Hockey5’s Champions of Europe – a first for them! Speaking after the win Popova said they had worked for years for this victory and thanked the backroom staff and all that had supported them to be prepared for this well earned victory!

Earlier in the day Poland earned themselves a Bronze medal in front of a very happy home crowd, beating Bulgaria 3-2.
