Coaching committee discuss key decisions for 2025

The EuroHockey Coaching Committee met last week in Brussels to discuss key decisions for 2025 and assess the success of ongoing projects put in place over the past year.

The session saw the Coaching for Europe and Top Coaching Programme applications assessed and agreed next steps for the 2025 courses.

Following on from this, the focus of discussion moved onto women in coaching with a review of the findings from the Female High Performance Coaching review from Joy Jouret.

This included sharing and understanding what the committee can do in this realm from Helen Windsor from the EuroHockey Youth Leadership Committee.

The second main session centred on the EuroHockey Workforce Convention, recapping on the outcomes, proposed changes and next steps.

Work on developing national coaching systems – including a new national association framework – is continuing apace with the roll-out, approach and timelines being put in place.

The final session with the committee began with a presentation from Spain entitled “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” by Arseni Sane, looking at the transnational understanding of coaching frameworks.

The event concluded with EuroHockey Institute Coordinator Cameron Findler honing in on international relations and defining strategy and operations for the future.
