Institute hosts strategic funding applications webinar with 23 nations taking part

The EuroHockey Institute hosted 23 nations to help learn how to develop strategic funding applications for the member national associations today.

Participants learnt an understanding of three highlighted funding options and who the stakeholders are that can help and support national associations.

  • Option 1: EuroHockey Solidarity Grants
  • Option 2: European Union Mobility
  • Option 3: European Union Partnerships for Collaboration

27 participants, representing 23 national associations, joined the webinar and were given a better understanding of the objectives, deadlines and process for applying for the variety of funding.

Cameron Findler, (EuroHockey Institute Coordinator) explained the importance that applications should link to strategic aims of governments, ministries of sport and National Olympic Committees, thus making projects more strategic.

Angus Kirkland (Director General, EuroHockey) was delighted to see so many nations join the call: “In the past six years, we have accelerated our relationship with the European Union and accessed over €3 million in projects, directly and indirectly, which has been the foundation to grow the investment into the development of hockey. It is inspiring to see that we have engaged 23 member national associations thus far as well.”

Gino Schilders, (President, Czech Republic Hockey – pictured above) enforced the message for those nations that had not started: “If you start with national projects, learn about the rules and processes for applications. The possibilities are endless, as I have seen connecting many nations and organisations outside of the sports sector.”
