Isabelle Jouin honoured with EuroHockey Diploma of Merit

Isabelle Jouin has been awarded the Diploma of Merit for her remarkable dedication and commitment to hockey in France.

Her leadership, particularly in advancing inclusivity and gender diversity, marks a new era for French hockey.

Since joining the Steering Committee of the French Hockey Federation in 2019, Isabelle has been an inspirational force, guiding the federation towards greater engagement, equality, and representation.

Following her election as President, she set out a bold vision for the Federation with a clear list of objectives: increasing participation, securing sustainable financing, strengthening club development, enhancing training, fostering communication, and building partnerships – all with an eye on Paris 2024.

With these goals, she has led with the utmost dedication, encouraging the French hockey community to work together with “positive energy, cooperation, and mutual aid”.

Her hockey journey began at Sautron Hockey Club as a supportive parent but evolved into a mission to strengthen hockey from its grassroots.

As President, Isabelle’s steadfast support for initiatives like the Women’s Hockey Embassy and the Hockey Ambition Plan 2024 exemplifies her forward-thinking approach.

She has been a vital advocate for gender parity, understanding it as essential for the sport’s growth and as a fundamental value for the future.

Her efforts have contributed to increasing female participation in hockey across France, bringing them closer to achieving true gender balance.

Speaking about her efforts, EuroHockey President Marcos Hofmann hailed those efforts in the presentation ceremony, saying: “Through her leadership, Isabelle has shown us that sports are not only about the game but about building communities where everyone – regardless of background or gender – is welcomed, encouraged, and empowered to succeed.

“It is with great admiration and gratitude that we recognise Isabelle’s incredible contributions and her commitment to advancing our sport.”
