Léo to meet Mannheim in men’s Indoor Club Cup final in Wettingen

Royal Léopold will meet Mannheimer HC in the men’s EuroHockey Indoor Club Cup final after they took contrasting routes to the last two in Wettingen.

For Mannheim, they raced through their semi-final challenge with Voordaan, running up an 8-2 success, profiting from a healthy 4-0 lead at half-time. The goals were shared around with six different scorers while Ben Hasbach and Jan Wentscher got a couple each.

Léopold joined them in the final following their dramatic comeback win over Sanse Complutense on a 5-4 scoreline. Léo started the brighter with goals from Philippe Simar and Igor Lockwood but the Spanish champions gradually swung the pendulum their way.

Juan Muñoz scored three times as they got the next four goals to build a 4-2 advantage only for Simar to score in the 31st, 32nd and 33rd minutes to snatch back the lead. It puts a Belgian side in the final for the first time since 2018, coincidentally also in Wettingen with Racing Club de Bruxelles took silver.

Earlier in the day, Mannheim completed their group phase with a 4-2 win over OKS SHVSM Vinnitsa to confirm they would top Pool A. Sanse, meanwhile, defeated Gaziantep Polisgücü to confirm their place in the semis.

In Pool B, Léo picked off a 10-5 win thanks to six second half goals which saw them recover from a 3-2 deficit at one stage.

And Voordaan completed the final four line-up when they proved too good for hosts Rotweiss Wettingen, building an 8-1 lead before the Swiss side scored four in the last five minutes to reduce the difference to 8-5.

In the relegation pool, Rotweiss did insure their country will be represented in the top division in 2026 thanks to a 6-2 win over OKS-SHVSM Vinnitsa with Yves Morard and Robin Aebi scoring two each.

HAHK Mladost got their first win of the competition to give them a chance at staying up as Vitalii Kalinchuk’s hat trick saw they edge out Gaziantep 6-5, a result which will see Türkiye drop to the second tier in 2026.

It allowed them to move ahead of Vinnitsa who they meet in the morning in a straight battle to avoid relegation.
