Scandinavian flair on show as Challenge II Women opens in Copenhagen

The EuroHockey Club Challenge II Women 2025 got underway in Copenhagen, with local side Copenhagen HC making the perfect start on home turf. Scandinavian sides featured strongly on Day 1, with Lyngby also taking an important win in Pool A.

Game 1: Seinäjoki United 1–3 Orient Lyngby

Denmark’s Orient Lyngby claimed the first win of the tournament with a composed 3–1 victory over Finland’s Seinäjoki United.
Emilie Jong opened the scoring from a penalty corner (29’), before Ana Pacheco doubled the lead early in the second half (33’). Nora Henriksen added a third (44’) with a fine field goal. Seinäjoki battled back, scoring from a penalty corner through Lilian Kigen (46’), but Lyngby comfortably closed out the match.

Game 2: SLF Mesaicos 0–4 Copenhagen HC

Hosts Copenhagen HC delighted their supporters with a commanding 4–0 win over SLF Mesaicos.
Fay Brasser broke the deadlock with a 13th-minute field goal. Penalty corners from Fleur van der Meer (30’) and Ellen Harju (36’) extended the advantage, before Brasser completed the scoring with her second goal (53’). It was a clinical performance by the Danish club to start their Challenge II campaign.
