Qormi Daikin stormed back from 2-0 to earn what could be a precious draw for the Maltese side against Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija in Pool B of the men’s EuroHockey Club Challenge II while Gibraltar hosts Eagles made it two wins from two in Pool A.
For Eagles, they need just a draw from their final group game while both Hungary’s Soroksari and Malta’s Floriana Young Stars are level on six points.

Game 5: Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija v Qormi Daikin HC 2-2
In a gripping Pool B match, Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija and Qormi Daikin HC ended in a 2-2 draw. The scoring began in the third period with Šiauliai’s Povilas Sinkevičius converting a penalty corner and adding a field goal, leading 2-0. Qormi fought back with goals from Keith Bajada and Luke Bajada, leveling the score with three minutes left.
It means the two sides remain locked at the top of the group table on 7 points going into a vital final day of action.
Game 6: HC Luxembourg
v Roslagens IF 10-0
On a famous day for HC Luxembourg – with their women securing a first ever win – they trounced Roslagens IF with a resounding 10-0 victory.
They led from the 12th minute and maintained relentless pressure throughout. The scoring peaked in the fourth quarter with six goals, including multiple strikes by key player Milan Dans – he scored six in the game.
It lifts them to six points and one point off the leading pair, giving them a straight shoot-out against Siauliai for a final berth.
Game 7: Floriana Young Stars HC
v Furuset Landhockeyklubb 0-2
In their Pool A match, Furuset Landhockeyklubb secured a 2-0 win over Floriana Young Stars HC. This victory is pivotal as it moves Furuset up in the group standings.
Furuset established their lead with a field goal from Sajawal Hussain at the 14th minute, followed by another from Sebastian Skaugvoll at the 30th minute. The match saw Furuset maintaining control, effectively stifling any offensive efforts from Floriana Young Stars, who struggled to penetrate Furuset’s solid defense. It lifts the Norwegian side up to second place in the table.
Game 8: Soroksári – Olcote HC
v Eagles HC 2-3
Eagles HC edged out Soroksári – Olcote HC with a thrilling 3-2 victory in the last match of the day to make it two wins from two. The first quarter ended goalless, but Eagles HC took the lead in the second quarter with a field goal from Leigh Dobinson. Soroksári quickly levelled through Tamás Szuszky but it was Eagles who held the half-time lead, Julian Lopez converting a penalty corner to make it 2-1 at big break.
Eagles extended their lead to 3-1 in the third quarter with another penalty corner by Lopez but Soroksári stormed back in the final moments, with Zsombor Ficzere scoring a late penalty corner, but Eagles held on for the win.
Eagles HC will next face Furuset Landhockeyklubb with the hosts needing a draw to advance to a gold medal match while the Norwegians would need a big win. Soroksári – Olcote HC prepares to meet Floriana Young Stars HC in the last day of pool action.
