Swansea and HK Concordia 1906 were confirmed as Pool A’s qualifiers for Monday’s promotion playoff games thanks to the former’s strong win over HK Concordia 1906 in the men’s EuroHockey Club Challenge I in Konya.
The Welsh side will now face ASD Tevere EUR from Italy while the Croatian outfit meet Gaziantep Polisgücü with all hoping for gold and to land a promotion for their respective countries.

Game 7 Swansea HC
v HK Triglav Predanovci 6-2
Swansea HC secured a convincing 6-2 victory over HK Triglav Predanovci to top Pool A and advance to one of Monday’s two finals, going through HK Concordia 1906.
Swansea took an early lead with a penalty corner goal by Robert Clowes in the 2nd minute in a lively start only for Predanovci to quickly reply with a field goal by Davorin Škrilec in the 5th minute.
The Welsh side were back in front through a field goal by Charlie Johnson in the 8th minute but, once more, Predanovci responded, making it 2-2 with a goal from Nejc Potokar.
Swansea, though, finally shook of their opponents – who were shown five yellow cards – with goals from Ewan Turner, Alfred Moore, and a penalty stroke by Johnson, sealing a healthy win.
Game 8 Grammarians HC
v Építők HC 2-0
Grammarians claimed a solid 2-0 win against Építők HC to finish in third place in Pool B. The Gibraltar club led via Ian Rodriquez in the 7th minute. The second goal came in the 32nd minute from Ronan Sillery, ensuring a comfortable victory with their Hungarian opponents ending the group in fourth spot.
Game 9 Gaziantep Polisgücü SK
v ASD Tevere EUR Hockey 5-5
An intense 5-5 draw between Gaziantep Polisgücü SK and ASD Tevere EUR ended the day in Konya, a result which saw the former top Pool B with the Italian outfit ending second on goal difference.
Two final quarter goals from Müslüm Elagöz earned the Turkish side the result in a big comeback, bringing his total to four for the day.
Tevere led early with goals from Felix Dionisi Vici and Leandro Cardenas. Gaziantep quickly responded, with Elagöz and Yasmin Sekmen leveling the score but the first half ended 4-3 in Tevere’s favour with Dionisi Vici and Cardenas and Elagöz on the mark on the once more. The second half saw Cardenas completing his hat trick and extending Tevere’s lead, but Gaziantep equalised with goals from Elagöz in the final quarter.
The draw means Gaziantep tops the Pool marginally with a better goal difference than Tereve! Both teams play for gold tomorrow.
