Tevere EUR and Gaziantep advance with game to go at Challenge I Men in Konya

ASD Tevere EUR and Gaziantep Polisgücü are already assured a place in one of Monday’s promotion playoff games following their strong wins in the men’s EuroHockey Club Challenge I in Konya, Türkiye.

Pool A remains to be ironed out with HC Concordia’s 6-2 win over Triglav Predanovci meaning anyone can still go through depending on Swansea and Triglav’s Sunday game.

Game 4 HK Concordia 1906 v HK Triglav Predanovci 6-2

HK Concordia 1906 claimed a convincing 6-2 victory over HK Triglav Predanovci to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Swansea.

Concordia started strong, taking the lead in the 10th minute with a penalty corner goal by Luka Mesarić. Predanovci responded quickly, equalising through Davorin Škrilec in the 15th minute and then taking the lead with a field goal by Domen Godina in the 20th minute.

Concordia rallied, scoring three goals before halftime with contributions from Leon Barilar, Luka Aleksić, and Andrej Zidanic for 4-2 at half-time. They continued their dominance in the second half, with Mesarić and Zidanic adding two more goals to seal the victory. This win earned Concordia 1906 5 points, placing them top of Pool A overnight. That concludes Concrodia’s pool games, so now they await their fate to see which game they will be involved in on Monday as Swansea meet Triglav on Sunday.

Game 5 Grammarians HC v ASD Tevere EUR Hockey 2-6

In Pool B, debutants ASD Tevere EUR Hockey secured a second successive victory, winning 6-2 over Grammarians, guaranteeing they will have a medal match on Monday.

Tevere took an early lead with goals from Gaspar Garrone and Leandro Cardenas. Grammarians responded with a goal by Shane Ramagge but Tevere extended their lead with goals from Felix Dionisi Vici and a penalty corner by Garrone. Tevere continued to dominate in the second half with goals from Cardenas and Samuel Serra. Grammarians managed a late goal by Ronan Sillery, but it was not enough to turn the tide.

Game 6 Építők HC v Gaziantep Polisgücü SK

In the final game of the day, Gaziantep Polisgücü SK delivered an impressive 7-0 victory over Építők HC.

Gaziantep dominated from the start, with early goals from Necip Çilkız and Ali Akin Özkılıç. They continued their relentless attack with further goals from Yusuf Yasar, Celal Aydin, and a penalty stroke by Müslüm Elagöz. Építők struggled to contain Gaziantep’s offence and failed to score throughout the match.
