Ireland’s UCD are in pole position in Alanya as the only team with a perfect record in the women’s EuroHockey Club Trophy II as they defeated Swansea 1-0.
Pool B is completely up for grabs with Cambrai and Gaziantep Polisgücü sharing top spot with AHTC Wien right in contention going into the final round of group matches.

Game 5: Edinburgh University HC v
HC 1972 Rakovník 2-4
HC 1972 Rakovník secured a 4-2 victory over Edinburgh University HC to put themselves back in the frame after an opening day loss to UCD. Rakovník started strong, taking an early lead through Klára Hvězdová’s field goal in the 4th minute. Edinburgh equalised in the second quarter with a goal from Harriet Platt but Rakovník responded quickly with a penalty corner goal by Anna Vorlová, making it 2-1 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Rakovník extended their lead to 3-1 with another field goal from Vorlová. Edinburgh’s Itske Hooftman reduced the deficit to 3-2 in the final quarter, but Rakovník sealed the win with a late goal from Eliška Havlová.
The result leaves Edinburgh in second spot on six points with Rakovnik on five points but hoping to stake their claim for a medal match on Monday with a strong result against Swansea.
Game 6: UCD Ladies v Swansea HC 1-0
UCD secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Swansea HC in a tightly contested match, making it two wins from two. Both teams displayed strong defensive play in the first half, leading to a goalless halftime. The decisive moment came in the third quarter when Lauren Moore scored for UCD in the 40th minute.
Despite Swansea’s efforts to find an equaliser, the students’ defence held firm to maintain their lead. This win keeps UCD at the top of Pool A, while Swansea remains winless, but with 2 losing bonus points.
UCD Ladies HC will next face Edinburgh University HC, while Swansea HC looks to bounce back against HC 1972 Rakovník.
Pool A concludes tomorrow morning and will determine who will play the medal matches on Monday.
Game 7: Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija
v AHTC Wien 0-5
The early afternoon got underway with AHTC Wien delivering a commanding performance against Šiauliai Ginstrektė-Akademija, winning 5-0. This decisive victory got AHTC on five more points on the board, lifting them to six in total.
AHTC Wien started strong with Laura Kern scoring from a penalty corner just three minutes into the match, followed by a field goal from Maria-Luisa Esser. The team maintained their dominance with three more goals from penalty corners, showcasing their skill and precision on set plays. Anja Haselsteiner and Katharina Proksch added to the tally, ensuring a comfortable lead.
Game 8: Gaziantep Polisgücü SK
v Cambrai HC 0-0
In the final match of the day Gaziantep Polisgücü SK and Cambrai HC played out a goalless draw.
Both teams displayed strong defensive performances, resulting in no goals. Despite numerous attempts, neither team managed to convert their opportunities into a score. This result earned each team 2 points, maintaining a competitive balance in Pool B.
The result means they continue to share top spot in the table, both sitting on seven points, one clear of AHTC. Cambrai face AHTC and then Gaziantep meet Siauliai with plenty of permutations on the line.
