Game 9 HC 1972 Rakovník v Swansea HC 2-0
HC 1972 Rakovník secured a 2-0 victory over Swansea HC which ultimately earned them a bronze medal match on Monday with Swansea having to settle for a seventh place playoff.
The Czech side broke the deadlock in the 27th minute with a field goal by Anna Vorlová and extended their lead in the third quarter with another field goal from Veronika Přibíková. Despite Swansea’s efforts to find a way back into the game, Rakovník’s defense held firm.
Game 10 UCD Ladies HC v Edinburgh University HC 0-0
The two student sides played out a 0-0 draw which owed a lot to Erika Gallagher’s brilliant penalty stroke save for the Dubliners. The earlier win for Rakovnik meant UCD would advance if they avoided a heavy defeat and this outcome ended up suiting them, meaning their defences have not been breached throughout the group stages
This concluded Pool A, UCD topped the pool with 12 points, Rakovnik was hot on their heels in second place also with 10 points. Edinburgh took the third slot (8pts) with Swansea taking up the rear on 3 points.

Game 11 Cambrai HC v AHTC Wien 0-0
In Pool B, another scoreless match emerged as Cambrai HC and AHTC Wien played to a 0-0 draw. It was a frustrating afternoon for the Austrian side who could not take full advantage of nine penalty corners while they had an effort disallowed in the fourth quarter.
In the end, the result meant both sides miss out on the final in Alanya with Cambrai ending second and AHTC Wien in third.
