The EuroHockey Institute has opened nominations for its 2027 coaching and umpiring development programmes, introducing an important new opportunity for coaches across Europe.
For the first time, coaches will be able to apply directly for the Coaches for Europe (C4E) and Top Coaches Programme (TCP). The change, introduced by the EuroHockey Coaching Committee, aims to give more coaches access to EuroHockey Institute programmes, including those working outside national team and performance pathways.
The new direct application route will work alongside the existing nomination process through National Associations. Coaches nominated by their National Association will still be given priority where experience levels are comparable, but individual applications will now also be considered by the EuroHockey Coaching Committee.
All applications will go through the same assessment process. Before a self-nominated coach is accepted onto a programme, EuroHockey will contact the relevant National Association to check for any safeguarding concerns or issues of misrepresentation. Coaches selected through the direct application route will be invoiced individually and must pay the course fee before the programme begins.
At the same time, nominations are now open for the EuroHockey Institute’s umpiring programmes. Member National Associations are invited to nominate candidates for both Umpires for Nations (U4N) and Umpires for Europe (U4E). These programmes help umpires develop from national-level appointments towards international hockey.

Deadline for all nominations is 16th September 2026.
