Programme Overview
This international coaching programme is designed to support coaches who want to work at an elite level within the game. Exploring the principles of coaching, devising and developing strategic nous, evolving a coaching philosophy and understanding the management of teams and individual athletes are all part of this comprehensive, world class programme.

How To Get On
Application
- Only member national associations of EuroHockey may nominate participants.
- The nomination period is September
- Each October the new cohort is announced.
- Contact your member national association directly to be nominated.
Criteria & Level
- The programme has been matched agains the European Qualification Framework and is certified at Level 4 by EuroHockey and FIH. Therefore participants must prove they hold certification or relevant experience at European Qualification Framework Level 3.

Three at-home portfolio tasks set by mentors throughout the year, designed for coaches to demonstrate application of newly-developed knowledge in their local context
FIH Academy Workshops
9 hours
Requirement to complete three FIH Academy online workshops throughout the year. Coaches to work with mentors to select workshops which cover gaps in individual knowledge.
Additional content
FIH Developer Course
1 day online
Following the successful graduation from the course and the achievement of FIH Level 4, coaches will be invited to take part in an FIH developer course affording them the opportunity to deliver FIH Academy coaching courses in their national context.
