Day 2 of the EuroHockey Club Challenge III Men 2025 in Oslo produced another exciting chapter, with dramatic finishes and crucial results. The hosts Mortensrud-Aker SK were involved in an extraordinary nine-goal thriller, while Vilnius Žuvedra HC and Warriors HC impressed in their respective Pool matches.
Game 4: Vilnius Žuvedra HC 5–1 Qormi Daikin HC
Vilnius Žuvedra HC produced a clinical display to stay in the hunt in Pool A, overcoming Qormi Daikin HC 5–1.
Edvin Stankevic gave Žuvedra an early lead from a penalty corner (7’) and doubled the advantage with a field goal (25’). Tomas Lakštauskas extended the lead with another penalty corner (30’+).
Juan Sarcia pulled one back for Qormi (42’, PC), but further goals from Lakštauskas (57’, PC) and Emilis Švolko (60’, FG) sealed an emphatic victory.
Game 5: Warriors HC 4–1 Valhalla Landhockey Club
Warriors HC earned their first win of the tournament with a confident 4–1 performance against Sweden’s Valhalla Landhockey Club.
Elmeri Rihtilä struck first from a penalty corner (10’), and Hayden Gwindi added a field goal (32’) to double the lead.
Kristian Yacoub gave Valhalla hope with a penalty corner goal (43’), but Warriors responded through another Rihtilä penalty corner (50’) and a late strike from Paramprit Gill (60’, PC) to close out the match.
Game 6: HK Lipovci 5–4 Mortensrud-Aker SK
HK Lipovci came out on top in a dramatic 5–4 thriller against hosts Mortensrud-Aker SK.
Blaž Berden opened the scoring for Lipovci (2’, FG), but the hosts battled back through Zain Janjua (7’, FG), Abhishek Singh (22’, PC), and another Janjua field goal (30’) to lead 3–2.
Franc Maučec equalised for Lipovci from the penalty spot (32’), but Singh restored the hosts’ lead (38’, PC).
In a dramatic finish, Maučec completed his hat-trick with a penalty corner (58’) before Luka Vegič netted the winner in the final minute (60’, FG), capping an unforgettable match.
Summary
Day 2 in Oslo delivered plenty of entertainment for the local crowd, with HK Lipovci edging a classic and Warriors HC securing their first victory. Vilnius Žuvedra HC remain strong contenders in Pool A, while the hosts can take great heart from their battling display.
